Smart City Lab yields an innovative environment for supporting the scientific research and development of Smart City technologies for researcher and student of the Faculty of Informatics, University of Debrecen. The topics, among others, covered by the research teams are the followings. Investigation of various big data and distributed technologies applied in developing of smart city applications. Application and development of data mining methods, including the searching of rare events, patterns and complex events in smart cities. Development of smart timetable and other smart campus applications. Popularization of smart city technologies and research of its methods. Intelligent visualization of events which happen in smart cities. Development of crowd-sensing and crowd-sourcing based applications on various fields, e.g., in sport and health. Development and testing of navigation algorithms applied in smart cities and smart campus. Investigation and development in map management systems (OpenStreetMap). Building communities for supporting annotation in smart city framework. Development of traffic simulation algorithms (microscopic, macroscopic) traffic sampling by smart devices (IoT). Traffic analytics. Studying artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms, particularly with regard to investigation and development in reinforcement learning, deep learning, extreme depth neural networks. Intelligent, autonomous car testing by simulation.
